   They smell very strong of palm and it has tons of little groves through out so it doesn’t feel ideal for eating off of. Food will definitely get trapped in the little grooves. In addition, because of the nature of the material, some have odd discoloration that makes it almost look dirty. It doesn’t bother me but I know several people at my event that might be a little skeeved out by it. For my needs, they’ll do. They are sturdy and the color and natural grain pattern looks beautiful. I am happy to buy something environment friendly so I may buy them again but more thoughtfully next time.

   Just got my order of these palm plates and I am completely satisfied with my order. I have been searching for a high quality, environmentally friendly, and disposable plate for dinner parties. These plates came very nicely packaged and arrived within the stated time frame. The plates are thick enough to be able to hold even the heaviest of veggie burger or a nice splatter of vegan chili. I definitely recommend these plates if you care about Mother Earth, or just want something a little fancier than plain white paper plates.

   These are somewhat cool looking, but beware they are not, in any sense of the word, “elegant.” I’ll use them for a casual cocktail party, but admittedly was hoping they would be less “granola” and more smart-hip. I do like the fact that they will be thrown away but are planet friendly. I typically never use disposable, but my cocktail plates are just a tad small for this party. A few did arrive unusable (palm was literally split), but luckily I only needed about 20. Fast shipping, and arrived just as promised.

    I absolutely loved having these plates (plus wooden utensils) for our jungle-themed baby shower. They were sturdy (we had kebabs), well-made & very unique. They have an odor (not unpleasant) but worth opening and leaving out for a day or two before your event. After everyone was done, we just chunked the plates in the backyard bonfire. I will definitely purchase these again for another event.
